Zelensky invites Modi to Ukraine, congratulates him on his victory

London, June 06 (HS). Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday and congratulated him on his victory in the general elections and discussed the upcoming peace agreement in Switzerland in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war. Along with this, Zelensky also invited PM Modi to visit Ukraine. Zelensky expressed hope that India will play an important role in the agreement.

The Ukrainian President said on 'X', I spoke to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his victory in the elections. I wish him all the best for the formation of the government as soon as possible and for continued positive work for the benefit of the Indian people. He said, we discussed the upcoming global peace agreement. We believe in the important role of India. I invite Prime Minister Modi to visit Ukraine at an appropriate time.

Zelensky on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance's third consecutive victory in the parliamentary elections and said he looked forward to India's participation in the peace deal to be signed in Switzerland next week.

Zelensky reiterated that everyone in the world knows and recognizes India's role in global affairs. He said, it is very important that we all work together to ensure a just peace for all countries. In this regard, we are also eager to see India joining the peace agreement.
