Haridwar, 24 October (HS). Chinmaya Degree College and Chinmaya Mission is celebrating the 108th birth anniversary of Swami Chinmayananda. In this series, Global Head of Chinmaya Mission Swami Swaroopanand along with Brahmachari Darshan, Swami Yatishwarananda of Dehradun Chinmaya Mission, Brahmacharini Sudipti and Brahmacharini Satya of Roorkee and Saharanpur Chinmaya Mission were present at Chinmaya Degree College in the birth anniversary celebration.
On this occasion, Swami Swaroopanand said that mind is man's friend and enemy. Conquer the mind and be happy. The college has been celebrating the 108th birth anniversary of Swami Chinmayanand for the last one year. On this occasion, Safai Pakhwada was celebrated by the college for a month and a symposium was held with the students on the use of Gita knowledge in today's times. Plays of Indian saints, mahatmas and scholars were staged. In this series, Swami Swarupanand has arrived at Chinmay Degree College.
Swami Swaroopananda was welcomed with Purna Kumbh by Dr. PK Sharma, Ragini, Aashi and Anjali Yadav at the entrance of the Academic Block. Swami Swaroopanand, Swami Yatishwaranand, Brahmacharini Satya, Brahmacharini Sudipti, Secretary Professor Indu Mehrotra and Principal Dr. Alok Aggarwal jointly inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
On this occasion, Principal of the college, Dr. Alok Aggarwal said that the leadership and guidance of Swami Swaroopanand will always be helpful in our college reaching an excellent place in the field of higher education.
President of the college, retired Colonel Rakesh Sachdeva said that the Guru tradition is our heritage and the Indian knowledge system is a preserved system, through which knowledge is transferred from one generation to the next.
Addressing everyone, Swami Swaroopanand said that we should improve ourselves in every situation with the power of our mind because the mind is our own friend as well as enemy.
