Katihar, September 20 (HS). Young players of Katihar district left for Patna and Bhagalpur on Friday to participate in the state level athletics and football competition.
Senior Deputy Collector-cum-Deputy Superintendent, Physical Education, Katihar, Ms. Sadaf Alam encouraged the young players of Katihar for participating in the state level competition.
The players selected at the district level include Md. Shariful, Satyam Kumar, Karan Kumar, Mahesh Kumar, Himanshu Kumar, Marshal Raza, Rizwan Qureshi, Ankit Raj, W Kumar, Sheikh Basar and Md. Wasim of Athletics Under-17 (Boys). These players will participate in the state level school athletics boys, under-14 sports competition organized at Khel Parisar, Kankarbagh, Patna from 22 to 25 September.
Besides this, the selected participants of Football Under-14 (Boys) at district level namely Daawat Hansda, Ratan Tudu, Rooplal Baski, Vishwanath Soren, Patwari Besra, Vikash Hembram, Sonu Kumar, Sonu Soren, Suraj Murmu, Samuel Kisku, Suraj Murmu, Lakhiram Murmu, Jaishankar Tudu, Rahul Kisku, Amit Tudu, Ganga Ram Soren, Premlal Murmu will participate in the state level school football Under-14 (Boys) sports competition to be held at Sadis Compound, Bhagalpur from September 21 to 25.
The selected participants of Athletics Under-17 (Boys) District Level School Sports Competition, 2024-25 will participate in the State Level School Sports Competition from 22nd to 25th September at Khel Parisar, Kankarbagh, Patna. Along with this, the selected participants of Football Under-14 (Boys) at the district level left for participation in the State Level School Competition to be held at Sandis Compound, Bhagalpur.
While felicitating the young players of Katihar for being selected for the state level competition, Ms. Sadaf Alam said that there is no lack of talent in the players of Katihar district, they just need proper guidance and opportunity. She called upon the players to perform well.
On this occasion, physical education teacher Mr. Gopikrishna, Mr. Subhashish Murmu, senior player-cum-coach Md. Farukh and Abhishek Kumar were present.
