Saharanpur, August 29 (HS). A case of gang rape of a mentally challenged girl by two men who had come in the marriage procession in village Salempur near the cooperative sugar mill in the Sarsawa police station area of the district has come to light.
According to the information, the victim's brothers are labourers. Due to this, two youths who had come from Haryana in the marriage procession found the girl alone in the house and committed the crime of gang rape. Hearing the girl's scream, a woman from the neighbourhood reached the house and raised an alarm.
A report of this case was lodged in Sarsawa police station. After which the police took immediate action and raided the village in Haryana on Thursday and arrested both the accused youths.
Giving information in this regard, SP Rural Sagar Jain said that as soon as the case of rape of a mentally challenged girl came to light, two teams were immediately formed to nab the accused and both the accused were arrested from Haryana. Further action is being taken in the case.
