Mumbai: A young man committed suicide by hanging himself after being harassed by a doctor for the treatment bill of his twin son admitted in a hospital in Navi Mumbai. The deceased has made serious allegations against the hospital and the doctor in the suicide note.
Narendra used to work as a security guard in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. After 14 years of marriage, his wife became pregnant. She gave birth to twins in a hospital in Nerul. But due to the poor health of the babies, they were kept in the ICU.
Narendra had deposited about 46 thousand rupees for the hospital bill. Due to the increase in the bill, he discharged his wife from the hospital. He then deposited the amount of the bill more. But the doctor called him repeatedly and harassed him to pay one and a half lakh rupees.
It is said that the doctor had also threatened that if the bill was not paid, the children would be removed from the ventilator.
Narendra was mentally broken due to poor financial condition. In despair, he hanged himself. In the suicide note, he has blamed the doctor and the hospital. He demanded strict action against them. The police have taken cognizance of the case and are investigating further to find out the real reason behind the suicide.
