On the first day of the New Year, a young man brutally murdered five members of his family at Hotel Sharanjit in Lucknow. The accused murdered his mother and four sisters, causing panic in the area. On receiving the information, the police took swift action and arrested the accused youth and sent the bodies for post-mortem. In the initial investigation, the reason behind the murder is said to be family feud.
The family is a resident of Agra and came to Lucknow on 30 December. The youth, whose name is Arshad (24 years), was staying at Hotel Sharanjeet in Naka area along with his mother and four sisters. According to the police, Arshad killed his mother and four sisters with a sharp blade. Initially, the accused repeatedly changed his statement before the police, but after being strictly interrogated, he confessed to his crime.
The deceased include Aaliya (9), Alshiya (19), Aqsa (16), Rahmeen (18), and their mother Asma. Police said that Arshad’s father’s name is Badar, and he is a resident of Islam Nagar, Tedhi Bagiya, Kuberpur, Agra. The investigation into the case is ongoing and police believe that the murders were committed due to family feud. Joint CP Bablu Kumar said that five bodies were found in the hotel and the matter is being further investigated.
