Australia’s young opener Sam Constas is excited to play in the ‘Boxing Day’ Test against India. 19-year-old Constas says that if he gets a chance in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar series, he will take the field with special plans for Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and his team.

Opportunity for new opening batsman

Sam Constas has been included in the Australian team for the first time. He has been given a place in the team after the poor performance of Nathan McSweeney in the last three Test matches.

  • Nathan McSweeney was dropped due to his disappointing performance at the top of the order.
  • Constas has been selected in the team for the last two Test matches.

Plans ready for Indian bowlers

Constas said during a conversation with ‘Fox Cricket’:

“I have some plans for the Indian bowlers. I think I am in good form at the moment, and if I get a chance, I would like to capitalize on it.”

he adds:

“I will play according to the ball and make sure I put some pressure on the bowlers.”

Chance to debut in ‘Boxing Day’ test

If Sam Constas gets a place in the final eleven for the ‘Boxing Day’ Test to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, he can become the second youngest player to make his Test debut for Australia.

  • Captain Pat Cummins made his Test debut against South Africa in 2011 at the age of 18 years and 193 days.
  • Constas recently turned 19 and is close to achieving this special milestone.

Expecting dream debut

Constas said:

“It would be a huge honor for me to make my debut. This would be a dream come true for me. I am excited to play against a strong team like India and am looking forward to the challenge.”
