JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria: IIT Kanpur has once again changed the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025 and a notice has also been issued in this regard. The previous eligibility criteria have been re-implemented in case of JEE Advanced 2025 attempts. According to a notice issued on November 18, 2024, the institute has decided to withdraw the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced, reducing the number of attempts for students to three. This amendment has now been withdrawn. According to the circular, the decision was taken after considering several ‘competing needs’. In a circular issued on November 18, the institutes announced that the Joint Admission Board, JAB, has decided to restore the earlier eligibility criteria. This decision was taken after the JAB meeting held on November 15, 2024.

The old eligibility criteria have now been restored in JEE Advanced 2025 and no changes are applicable. In other words, the three attempts of JEE Advanced has now been changed back to its original two attempts rule. Apart from this, the age limit and other eligibility criteria are also almost the same as last year.

IIT Kanpur changes the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced:

It is noteworthy that earlier, IIT Kanpur had announced the revised eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2025 in early November. IIT Kanpur, as the conducting institute, had informed about its decision to allow students a total of 3 attempts. As per the recommended changes, students who have passed class 12th in 2023 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2025 exam.
