You cannot get rid of the scam just by getting bail | News India

The way the Supreme Court granted bail to Kavitha, the leader of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti, raising the question as to where is the evidence against her, it is natural that the CBI and the ED are in the dock.

Even after this, it cannot be said that the Supreme Court has come to the conclusion that no scam has taken place. It is true that they asked the CBI and ED where the evidence is but it cannot be ignored that they imposed some conditions while granting bail to Kavitha and instructed her not to try to influence witnesses and tamper with evidence during bail. This means that the Supreme Court has given her bail but not a clean chit. The problem is that in such cases the comments of the judges are in a different tone. Sometimes such comments are not even a part of the judgments.

Why don't judges write what they say in their decisions? It is worth noting that sometimes, on the basis of their oral comments, leaders and their supporters who get bail start creating an atmosphere that the allegations against them are baseless and the scam in which they have been arrested is not true.

The same is being done this time as well. Even after Kavita and Manish Sisodia got bail before him, it cannot be said that the final verdict has come in this case. The final verdict in the cases related to corruption of politicians should come as soon as possible, for this the investigating agencies as well as the courts will have to show promptness.

Not only this, it is important that CBI and ED should clarify why they have to repeatedly face questions like where is the evidence? Along with this, it is also important to get an answer to the question why there is unnecessary delay in starting the trial? It is worth noting that the Supreme Court had mentioned the delay in the trial while granting bail to Manish Sisodia, the same has been done in the case of K. Kavitha as well. I do not know whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will get bail after K. Kavitha or not, but it cannot be denied that there is political corruption in the country and it needs to be curbed.

In this regard, it cannot be complacent that the Prime Minister is determined to tackle political corruption and said so from the Red Fort on Independence Day recently. Unless the investigative agencies and the courts do their job diligently, political corruption cannot be tackled effectively.
