You can transfer your railway ticket to someone else’s name, know the process

train ticket: Actually, Indian Railways has provided the facility to transfer tickets even if you do not travel. However, you can transfer train tickets only in the name of your family members like parents, siblings, son-daughter, husband-wife.

For this, the passenger will have to request one day before the departure of the train.

At the same time, if someone has to travel for a wedding ceremony or any other personal work, then he will have to apply for ticket transfer 48 hours in advance.

For this, take a printout of the train ticket and go to the counter with the original ID and photo copy of the family member whose name you want to register.

There the form has to be filled and details of the person traveling have to be given. After this, the name of the passenger is struck off from the ticket and the name of the member in whose name the ticket has been transferred is inserted.

Apart from transferring train tickets, passengers can also change boarding stations. For this you will have to login to IRCTC website.

Indian Railways does not allow changing the name of the boarding station if the ticket is booked through offline mode (reservation counter).
