Private sector employees have an attractive retirement savings scheme known as Employees' Provident Fund (EPF). Both employees and companies contribute to this scheme.
Lakhs of people in India are availing the services of EPF. It is not just a retirement savings fund but also allows individuals to withdraw money in case of emergencies. You can submit EPF request online without leaving your home. Let us understand the steps involved:
- To withdraw EPF funds, first go to the official website of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.
- Enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password. Then, input the given captcha.
- After successful login, click on “Online Services” and select “Claim Form” option.
- Select Advance EPF Withdrawal Form.
- Enter the last four digits of your bank account and verify it.
- Proceed for online claim by clicking on “Proceed for online claim”.
- Select Form 31 for EPF Advance.
- You must select one of the reasons given below.
- Then the amount you want to withdraw. It has to be entered.
- After this you will have to scan the check or upload a copy of the passbook. And you have to enter your address.
- Click on “Generate OTP on Aadhaar” and enter the received OTP.
- After receiving the OTP, your claim will be submitted as soon as you enter it.
