News India Live, Digital Desk: The heat of campaigning for the Assembly elections 2026 in West Bengal has reached its peak. Firebrand leader of BJP and Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath On Sunday (12 April 2026) roared against the Mamata Banerjee government from the land of Bengal. Yogi alleged that Trinamool Congress (TMC) has made Bengal the center of corruption, ‘cut money’ and mafia rule in the last 15 years. He said that BJP will end this ‘atmosphere of fear’ and will bring back the lost identity of Bengal.

What is that game of ‘cut money’?

In politics, ‘cut money’ has become a word which reflects the corruption spread at the local level in Bengal. If we understand in simple words:

Illegal Commission: This is an informal commission taken in return for extending the benefits of government schemes to the general public.

How is the game? If the government releases ₹100 for a project or public welfare scheme (like building houses or toilets), local level leaders demand their share (cut) of it.

No record: This entire transaction is done in cash, due to which no written evidence of corruption remains.

5 big things about Yogi Adityanath’s speech:

identity crisis: Yogi said that TMC has pushed Bengal into the quagmire of ‘cut money’ and corruption instead of development.

Appeasement and Mafia: He alleged that due to vote bank politics, mafias are being given protection in Bengal and law and order is being tampered with to appease a particular community.

Safety of daughters: The Chief Minister claimed that the daughters and youth of Bengal will feel safe only under BJP rule.

Language issue: He said in the rally in Medinipur that Bengal is identified by the Bengali language and not by the imposition of Urdu.

Resolution of Change: Yogi expressed confidence that TMC’s misrule will end with the election results on May 2, 2026.

BJP’s ‘Mission Bengal’: Amit Shah and PM Modi attack

Not only Yogi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah He is also continuously mentioning ‘Syndicate’ and ‘Extortion’ (Zulm/Extortion) in his rallies.

Amit Shah’s promise: Shah said in the Bankura rally that as soon as the BJP government is formed, the ‘Syndicate’ will be turned upside down and straightened. In his recently released manifesto, he has promised ‘zero tolerance’ against corruption and activation of central investigating agencies.

New definition of Nitin Naveen: BJP election in-charge Nitin Naveen gives new meaning to TMC mafia Raj and KCut-money has been described.

From 2019 to 2026: Controversy does not stop

Let us tell you that the issue of ‘cut money’ was also highlighted in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when Mamata Banerjee herself had warned her workers to return the public money. After this, the news of TMC booth president Trilochan Mukherjee returning ₹ 2.25 lakh to the workers was in the news. Now in the 2026 elections, BJP is trying to capitalize on this as the biggest weakness of Mamata government.
