On the occasion of the holy and sacred festival of Rakshabandhan, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has given a huge and wonderful gift to the mothers, sisters and daughters of the state. As per the instructions of the government, women can avail completely free travel in Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses till 29th August. The special thing is that under this facility, women can also get one companion to travel with them absolutely free of cost. This scheme has been launched from Thursday morning, which has brought huge relief to the sisters traveling during the festival. Strict security arrangements and anti-Romeo squad active: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given clear instructions to the state transport department, police and district administration that the travel of women should be completely safe, easy and convenient. ‘Anti Romeo Squad’ has been fully activated on major routes and bus stands to deal with any inconvenience during the festive season. Additionally, bus drivers are being closely monitored to ensure that no driver drives under the influence of alcohol, thereby compromising the safety of passengers. 979 additional buses are being operated from Lucknow To manage the huge crowd of passengers on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, a total of 979 AC and ordinary buses are being operated from Lucknow region of Roadways. For smooth operation, 111 buses from Charbagh, 117 from Awadh bus stand, 142 from Kaiserbagh, 170 from Rae Bareli, 113 from Haidergarh, 88 from Suburban, 90 from Alambagh and 5 from Barabanki have been launched on the route. Apart from this, 46 buses are being run for Gorakhpur, 53 for Delhi, 13 for Kanpur, 36 for Azamgarh, 35 for Prayagraj and 15 for Varanasi, while 50 buses have been kept in reserve for emergencies. Regional Manager Vimal Rajan said that to control the crowd at the bus stands, duties of employees and officers have been imposed in three different shifts. Four special trains started from today for the convenience of passengers. Keeping in mind the huge rush of passengers by road as well as by rail, the Northern Railway Administration has started operating four special trains from Thursday. According to Senior DCM Samarth Gupta, in view of the demand of passengers, special trains are being run between Chandigarh-Lucknow and Delhi-Varanasi (via Lucknow). Train number 04546 Chandigarh-Lucknow special is operating via Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Hardoi. At the same time, Delhi-Varanasi special train (04012/04011) with 21 coaches is reaching the destination via New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Sultanpur and Jaunpur City, in which both AC and ordinary coaches are available so that all the passengers can get the benefit of smooth travel.
