Lucknow, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). Yogi government is tightening the noose on the corrupt under the zero tolerance policy and major action was taken in Bulandshahr on Tuesday. Here, on the report of the high level investigation committee formed into black marketing of ration, four officers including the District Supply Officer were suspended with immediate effect. Along with this, a case has also been registered against all of them under Section 3/7 of the Indian Penal Code and Essential Commodities Act-1955.

Food and Logistics Department Commissioner Saurabh Babu said on Tuesday that the government is taking action with full seriousness against the corrupt who are playing with the rights of the poor. District Magistrate Bulandshahr had received a complaint about black marketing of ration in the district, after which an investigation committee was formed under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) to investigate this serious matter. The committee examined the single stage transportation system, which found that there was large-scale misuse of government food grains distributed under the public distribution system. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the government constituted a three-member high level investigation committee under the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner (Establishment) from the headquarters. This committee went to the spot and conducted a complete investigation, in which it became clear that the single stage door step delivery system and other instructions of the public distribution system were not followed properly. The officers and employees concerned did not discharge their supervisory duties properly, leading to misuse of government ration.

These officers were suspended

The committee's investigation revealed that handling and transportation contractor Ravindra Singh, marketing inspector Sudhir Kumar, marketing inspector Ankur Singh, labor mate Shivkumar alias Shibbu and lawyers Khan, Pinky and Pawan were involved in black marketing and misuse of government ration. The food grains which were supposed to reach the poor and needy are being taken out of the warehouse of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and sold illegally in the market. After investigation, Marketing Inspector Sudhir Kumar, Supply Inspector Vivek Srivastava and District Food Marketing Officer Zia Ahmed Karim have been suspended with immediate effect. Departmental action has also been initiated against them. Apart from this, District Supply Officer Sunil Singh has also been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.

The blame fell on other officers too

Many other officials have also been punished for negligence in distribution of food grains and not maintaining proper government records. Departmental action has also been initiated against depot in-charge and block dispatch in-charge Shalini Pachauri, regional marketing officer Inderpal Singh, and marketing inspectors Gaurav Kumar, Vinod Kumar Dohre, Mukesh Kumar, Rajiv Sharma and Manoj Kumar. All these officers are accused of serious negligence in distribution of food grains and proper maintenance of records.

Contractor blacklisted

The firm of transport contractor Ravindra Singh, who was found involved in corruption, has been blacklisted with immediate effect. This action has created a stir in the administrative system and the food grain distribution system in the district is being closely monitored. The District Magistrate has made it clear that any kind of irregularity will not be tolerated and all necessary legal steps will be taken to give strictest punishment to the culprits.
