Lucknow, 05 September (HS). The Transport Corporation will operate 7000 buses for the convenience of devotees in the upcoming Maha Kumbh. 3050 buses will be operated in the first phase, while all 7000 buses will be operated in the second phase. Similarly, 550 city buses will also be operated for the convenience of passengers at the local level, in which 200 buses will be operated by urban transport while the remaining 350 buses will be operated by the Transport Corporation.
On Thursday, a review meeting was held by the Additional Managing Director with the regional managers of all the regions at the Transport Corporation Headquarters regarding the operational arrangements related to the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela, in which all the senior officers of the Transport Corporation Headquarters participated. It is noteworthy that the Yogi government is going to organize this mega event to be held in Prayagraj in January and February 2025 with full grandeur. Preparations are being made on a large scale for this. Transport facilities are a part of that series.
Temporary bus stations will be built at eight identified places
The upcoming Kumbh Mela 2025 has been divided into three phases. The first phase will be from January 12 to January 23, the second phase from January 24 to February 7 and the third phase from February 8 to February 27. The main bathing dates are January 13, January 14, January 29, February 3, February 12 and February 26, while the main bathing festival Mauni Amavasya is on January 29, 2025. The maximum crowd of bathers is expected during this period. Keeping in view the public interest, the corporation will deploy an area manager at each center for well-organized operations from temporary bus stations. Also, damage manager, assistant damage manager and service manager will be deployed. Temporary bus stations will be set up at a total of eight identified places. Check posts will be set up at seven places, which will include Lucknow Marg, Ayodhya Marg, Kanpur Marg, Gorakhpur Marg, Varanasi Marg, Mirzapur Marg and Banda Marg. A central control room will also be set up at the headquarters during the fair period, which will remain operational 24 hours a day.
