Yogi government started preparations for a grand event in Prayagraj

Maha Kumbh 2025 will be organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from 13 January to 26 February. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is fully committed to making this historical and religious event successful and safe. Extensive preparations are being made in the fair area, in which safety, cleanliness and orderliness are being given priority. The Chief Minister has given strict instructions to the officials on several visits to review the preparations for Mahakumbh.

Strict security instructions

CM Yogi gave many important instructions to the officials regarding security:

  • Intensive Search Operation: Intensive search operation in hotels, restaurants, street vendors and illegal settlements in Prayagraj and surrounding areas.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Ban on entry of vehicles without license and permit.
  • Surveillance of suspicious persons: Search and interrogation of suspicious persons and objects.
  • Alert to intelligence agencies: LIU and IB instructed to remain fully alert.

Challenge regarding duty of policemen

immortal light According to the report, some policemen are avoiding going to Prayagraj for duty in Mahakumbh.

  • Policemen on duty: So far, more than 15,000 policemen have arrived for fair duty.
  • Excuses for not doing duty: Nearly 5,000 policemen have not yet been deployed.
  • Effect of Bonus: Policemen on duty at Maha Kumbh are getting a bonus of up to ₹ 1 lakh, but even this is proving insufficient to attract some personnel.

According to sources, many policemen do duty voluntarily, but some are trying to get their duty cut by making excuses. Such policemen can be given minor punishment or pardon.

Special arrangement for policemen

Prayagraj Police has made special arrangements for the personnel on duty:

  1. Accommodation and food arrangements:
    • Arrangement of proper accommodation and food for policemen during fair duty.
  2. Use of Reserve Police Force:
    • CM Yogi directed that mainly the reserve police force should be used.
    • Police from other districts will be deployed only in emergency situations.
  3. Tight security:
    • Security is being strengthened in Prayagraj and surrounding districts.
    • Instructions to take strict action against any kind of illegal activities, contracts, or frauds.

Special focus on cyber and fire security

Special teams have been formed to keep an eye on cyber and online fraud during Mahakumbh.

  • Fire Safety:
    • Special arrangements for fire prevention in the fair area.

    • Instructions to reduce emergency response time and ensure prompt action.

Crowd management and traffic management

The Chief Minister has made special arrangements keeping in mind the large number of devotees coming on the main bathing festivals:

  1. Measures to prevent stampede:
    • Special teams deployed for quick management of crowd.
  2. Traffic arrangement:
    • Arrangement of crane to avoid jam in the city and fair area.
    • Additional deployment of traffic police on the routes.
