Yogi government is giving new opportunities to the youth to get skills, respect and employment.


Lucknow, 20 September. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, continuous efforts are being made in Uttar Pradesh to connect the youth with skill training and employment and self-employment opportunities. In this sequence, there is an important opportunity for the youth who want to participate in the IndiaSkills Competition 2026-27. The last date for online registration for the competition has been extended to 22 September 2026. Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has appealed to the youth to register themselves by the prescribed date.

Interested candidates can apply online through Skill India Digital Portal. Apart from this, registration can also be done by scanning the QR code issued. By extending the date, more and more youth of the state will get an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Opportunity to showcase talent from district level to international platform

IndiaSkills competition provides a comprehensive platform to the youth to showcase their professional and technical skills. The process of competition starts from the district level and progresses to the Mandal, State, Regional and National level. Participants who perform outstandingly may also get an opportunity to represent the country at the international level. The competition provides an opportunity to participants to showcase their proficiency in various skill areas including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, 3D Printing, Internet of Things, Drones, Coding, Welding, Beauty and Wellness.

Prize money along with medal

Along with medals, prize money is also awarded to the youth who perform excellently in the competition. At the state level, the gold medal winner is given Rs 20,000, the silver medal winner is given Rs 15,000 and the bronze medal winner is given Rs 10,000. At the regional level, the prize money is Rs 75 thousand, Rs 50 thousand and Rs 25 thousand respectively. Successful participants at the national level receive special honors with higher prize money.

Training from experts, preparation for international competitions

The youth participating in IndiaSkills are given training as per national and international standards as per their respective skills. Efforts are made to hone the capabilities of the participants in collaboration with prestigious institutions like IITs and industry experts. Youth who excel at the national level may further get an opportunity to represent India in international competitions like WorldSkills.

Employment and income opportunities with skills

This initiative does not limit the youth to just competition, but also connects them with new opportunities for skill-based careers. IndiaSkills requires trainers and assessors during the process. Former national and international winners may get opportunities to work as trainers and assessors. Along with this, efforts are also being made to provide opportunities as trainers in ITI to the participants who have excelled at various levels. According to Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, the IndiaSkills competition provides an opportunity to the youth to identify their talent, develop it as per national and international standards and move towards skill-based careers. With the extension of date, more youth will now get the opportunity to participate in it.
