Kanpur, 31 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the Nand Baba Milk Mission, the Yogi government is giving grants to strengthen the economic condition of farmers and cow herders. The government has invited applications for granting grants from November 1 to November 30. Under Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, a grant of Rs 11 lakh 80 thousand is given in two phases for setting up a unit of ten indigenous improved breed cows. This information was given by Kanpur Chief Veterinary Officer IDN Chaturvedi on Thursday.
He told that Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Director of Uttar Pradesh Nand Baba Milk Mission, has issued a letter seeking applications from all the districts of the state to start a new industry for cow rearing. An appeal has been made to such farmers and cow herders that to avail the benefits of this scheme, they have to apply online from November 1 to November 30.
Beneficiaries of previously operated cow rearing industry center will not get benefits
He said that the beneficiaries of Kamdhenu, Micro Kamdhenu Yojana or Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana or Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau-Samvardhan Yojana, previously operated under Nand Baba Milk Mission, will not be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
Where to apply to avail the benefits of the scheme
Dr. Chaturvedi told that the format of the application letter and related mandate regarding this scheme is available on the departmental portal https://updairydevelopment.gov.in and https://www.animalhusb.upsdc.gov.en and on the Chief Executive Officer of the concerned district. It is available in the office of Development Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer and for more information you can get it from the office of the above mentioned department of your district.
He told that this scheme is applicable in all the districts of the state. The beneficiary share is being given subsidy of 15 percent, bank loan of 35 percent and maximum 50 percent of the unit cost. Through this grant, the total estimated cost of the project of ten cows of Sahiwal and Tharparkar breed will be Rs 23.60.
The cow will be purchased by the beneficiary from outside the state as far as possible through breeding tract. The cow to be purchased should be of the first or second lactation and the offspring should not be weaned before one and a half months. Along with this, 0.20 acres and 8712 square feet of land for setting up the unit and 80 acres and 34848 square feet of land for fodder production must be either one's own or ancestral or taken on contract or lease for a minimum of 7 years.
