A very good news has emerged for the teachers and non-teaching staff teaching in higher educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh. Giving a historic gift to the teachers of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the ‘Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Scheme’. Under this scheme, teachers and employees of government, non-government aided and self-financed universities and colleges of the state will now get the facility of excellent health insurance and cashless treatment. An important MoU has been signed between the Higher Education Department and Punjab National Bank (PNB) for the implementation of this scheme, which will provide direct and comprehensive social security cover to about 10 lakh people of the state.
Financial assistance ranging from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore and many big benefits
While launching the scheme, CM Yogi Adityanath said that keeping its scope wide, more than 50 thousand non-teaching employees have also been included in it. According to this agreement with Punjab National Bank, in case of any untoward incident or accident, financial assistance ranging from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore will be given to the families of the teachers. Additionally, the hospital will also provide cash benefit up to Rs 60,000 and term life insurance cover up to Rs 12 lakh. The Chief Minister has made a special request to PNB to fully include teachers of private universities and self-financed institutions under this security cover.
Every family will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh
More than 1.28 lakh teachers working in universities and colleges of the state will directly benefit from the Chief Minister Cashless Medical Facility Scheme. Under this scheme, every eligible family will get free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh every year in the listed government and private hospitals of the state. The most special thing about this scheme is that the beneficiaries will be able to use it from the very first day as soon as the card is made. The entire expense from hospitalization to medicines, tests and discharge will be borne by the state government. The responsibility of its operation has been given to Sachij organization and only the rates of Ayushman Bharat scheme will be applicable in it.
There will also be free treatment for serious diseases like cancer and heart disease.
The panel hospitals covered under this scheme will provide treatment packages for more than 1900 diseases, which also include expensive medical procedures like cancer, serious kidney problems, heart diseases and major surgeries. To implement the scheme, special camps will be organized in all the districts and cards will be distributed to eligible teachers and employees. On this occasion, cards of the scheme were symbolically handed over by the Chief Minister to teachers of various institutions including Agra College, St. John’s College, RBS College and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University.
Teachers should protect youth from social media rumors: CM Yogi
During this program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave important advice to the teachers and said that today’s young generation is very dependent on social media and internet. In such a situation, rumors spread through fake and anonymous accounts can create hatred in the society. He appealed to the teachers to explain to the youth the difference between right and wrong in the digital age and keep them alert about the conspiracies of anti-national forces. Many senior ministers, MPs, MLAs and vice chancellors and officials of universities were present on this occasion.
