Due to poisonous fog falling continuously day and night, drivers are facing special problems. Last night the visibility was 5 meters in rural areas and 50 meters in the city. Due to dense fog, traffic is also moving very slowly. Even during the day, drivers have to drive with headlights on. The air quality index of Ludhiana has deteriorated. AQI crossed 400 last night.

The situation is getting worse on Hambra Road. There is neither any white line of traffic nor any kind of reflector installed on the road. Due to non-installation of reflectors, there is a possibility of accidents on Hambra Road. People are taking more than half an hour to travel 10 kilometers on Hambra Road at night. Traffic police is not deployed at any intersection.

According to PAU meteorologist Dr. PK Kingra, there is no possibility of rain for the next two days. Due to which fog like situation will persist. People are facing problems due to increasing smoke. Yellow alert has been issued today Friday due to fog. This poisonous smoke is causing more difficulty in breathing. This fog is especially harmful for people suffering from respiratory diseases. Infections in people’s eyes and throat are increasing due to continuous smoke. Mostly patients above 50 years of age are coming to the hospitals.

Feeling suffocated even inside the house

The effect of poisonous smoke has spread to such an extent that people are feeling suffocated even when the doors of their houses are closed. Last night the temperature in Ludhiana was mostly 21 degrees. The environment has been badly damaged by stubble burning. According to experts, unless it rains or winds blow, smog will continue. The problem of smoke mostly starts after Diwali.
