Kannada superstar and ‘KGF’ fame Yash’s upcoming mega-budget film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ There are tremendous discussions going on on social media and among cinema lovers regarding (Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups). A section of the audience had expressed displeasure on social media over the ‘obscenity’ and portrayal of women over the bold and intimate scenes shown in the film’s teaser and recent songs (‘Tabaahi’ and ‘Madhosh’). Now superstar Yash has broken his silence on the sharp questions being raised on the scenes, violence and boldness of his film and has given a direct and frank answer. During a conversation on the TV show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, Yash replied to the critics and said that he has not crossed any limits in the film, not even given any kiss scene.
‘Obscenity is wrong, but we did not cross the line of decorum’
During the show, when Yash was questioned about the increasing sexual content, violent scenes and his bold avatar in films, Yash clarified the situation and said, “Obscenity is completely wrong. But if you have noticed carefully, I have not even kissed in the film. Everything has a limit and a line and we as cinematic creators understand that very well. It is important to shoot the scenes in a very aesthetic and elegant manner, which looks effective when watched on the big screen. This is the voice of a creator and the real impact of cinema.'”
‘Toxic’ is the story of the thinking and rebellion of today’s young generation (Gen Z).
Yash defended the theme and concept of the film and said that the film has been made with a special purpose and deep emotions. He explained that every older generation always feels that the next generation is on the wrong path, whereas the world always belongs to the youth.
According to Yash, “The film ‘Toxic’ is actually made for Gen Zs. It is about the conversations and thoughts that today’s youth have among themselves. What are the differences of youth with seniors and the old system, why society has made some fixed rules, why should any work be done in the same way – all these questions and thoughts are touched upon by the film. When the audience watches the entire film, they will easily understand the basic feeling behind it and the crux of the story. Will go.'”
Geetu Mohandas’s direction and Yash’s grand comeback after 4 years
Directed by National Award-winning director Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ is a dark gangster drama set against the backdrop of the drug and liquor cartels of the 1950s to 1970s. Apart from Yash, veteran actresses like Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasant will be seen in lead roles in the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate to the film in view of its intense action and raw violence. This frank statement of Yash, who is returning to the big screen after four years, has increased the craze of the youth and cinema lovers towards the film manifold.
