Yamuna Nagar: Women upset with closed public toilets protested at the Municipal Corporation office | News India

Yamunanagar, September 9 (HS). A large number of people including women living in slums protested at the corporation office against the closed public toilets in the industrial area of Yamunanagar and also raised slogans against the officials. On this occasion, social organizations also came forward in their support.

On Monday, Rahul Bhan of the social organization Aagaaz gave this information and said that the corporation has provided 18 public toilets for the people living in slums in the industrial area of the city. But all of them are closed. They are full of dirt. There is no arrangement of water there.

He told that he has complained about this issue to the corporation officials and the district administration and even to the District Deputy Commissioner for the last one and a half months. But no solution has been found. He told that the people there have kept two tanks of one thousand liters of water each with their own money. But the corporation officials made a formality by opening two toilets by making fake connections in those tanks. He said that a demonstration has been held at the corporation office today regarding this issue. He warned the corporation officials and said that if this is not resolved soon, then people will be forced to take to the streets. The entire responsibility for this will be of the corporation and the administration. A large number of women were present on this occasion.
