Xenophobic controversy: India a country known for hospitality: S Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has reacted strongly to US President Joe Biden recently calling India xenophobic. Rejecting Biden's comments, the External Affairs Minister said that India welcomes people from different communities. This country is known for its hospitality. In an interview, Jaishankar also rejected the allegation that India's economy is collapsing. The Union Minister said that the Citizenship Amendment Act brought by the Prime Minister Modi-led government shows that India welcomes people from every community.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that the country's economy is not collapsing. India has always been a unique country. I really want to say that this is a country that has always welcomed everyone. People from different communities come to India. Jaishankar said that the Citizenship Amendment Act is an example.

He also spoke on CAA issue

Regarding the ongoing criticism on the CAA issue, the External Affairs Minister said that many people say publicly that due to CAA, 10 lakh Muslims in the country will lose their citizenship. The Foreign Minister said, why are such people not being held to account? Because no one is going to lose their citizenship in the country.

What did Biden say? , US President Biden said at a fundraising event that the xenophobic nature of India, China, Russia and Japan is the reason for their economic problems. He further said that America's economy is flourishing because it welcomes immigrants to its soil. Along with Russia and China, Japan's economy could also become stronger if they start welcoming immigrants to their soil.
