In July 2024, he won the gold medal in the Under 17 Freestyle Wrestling 110 kg category in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. Sports lovers gave a grand welcome to the winning wrestler. After his victory on Tuesday, Raunak told that his training is going on at Chhatrapal Stadium.
His father Jaibeer Dahiya and mother Babita Devi are both his coaches. He started wrestling in the village arena. Raunak was born on 19 August 2007 in Bindauli village of Sonipat. He plays both freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman. Raunak started his wrestling in 2017. He used to play in the village mud and learn wrestling since he was 5-6 years old. His father Jaibeer Singh himself has been an international wrestler and is currently working as a coach at Chhatrashal Stadium. He is an international category A referee and keeps participating as a referee in wrestling competitions in various countries.
