Wrestler Bajrang Punia suspended: This was a big mistake, NADA responded by taking action

Bajrang Punia suspended by NADA : Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has suffered a big shock. The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has temporarily suspended him for not providing dope samples at national tests. Punia had not given dope sample in the national trial held in Sonipat, due to which this action has been taken against him. On the other hand, Bajrang Punia has also reacted in this matter.

Poonia will not be able to participate in the tournament-trial

According to sources, Bajrang Punia refused to give urine sample. Until the suspension proceedings against Bajrang Punia are lifted, he will not be able to participate in any tournament or trial.

NADA sent notice to Poonia!

Let us tell you that 'NADA' had asked Bajrang Punia to give his sample on March 10. But he refused and informed the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Then after the order of 'WADA', 'NADA' sent a notice to Punia on 23 April and asked him to reply in this matter within seven days. When Bajrang responds to 'NADA' then the date of hearing will be decided.

Punia lost the case

Bajrang Punia failed in the national selection trials organized for the Paris Olympic Qualifiers. In the Tokyo Olympics (2020 Tokyo Olympics), wrestler Rohit Kumar defeated Poonia in the semi-finals of the 64 kg freestyle weight category and Poonia's hopes of participating in the Paris Olympics (Paris Olympics-2024) were shattered.

Poonia reacted after being suspended

After being suspended, Poonia said, 'I never refused to give samples to NADA officials. I requested him to first reply to me that you had sent me expired kit for sampling, what action did you take in that direction? First answer him, then take my dope test. My lawyer Vidush Singhania will reply to this letter when the time comes.

Poonia staged a protest against Brij Bhushan

It is noteworthy that Poonia had protested and staged a dharna against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the case of sexual harassment. Last year, Poonia had written a letter to United World Wrestling (UWW) demanding action against WFI. However, a few days later the UWW lifted the ban on WFI.
