Mokshada Ekadashi 2024: Magashar Sud Ekadashi is called Mokshada Ekadashi. This is called the day of attaining salvation. On this day Lord Shri Krishna gave the knowledge of Geeta to Arjun. Worshiping on this day leads to salvation and donating gives manifold results. This year Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be observed on 11th December i.e. today. Mokshada Ekadashi date

According to the Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of Magashar month will start at 3:42 am on December 11 and end at 1:09 am on December 12. Then the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi is valid only on 11th December. Whereas it can be concluded on December 12 between 7 am to 9.09 am.

Method of worship in Mokshada Ekadashi

On the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, take bath first thing in the morning and offer Arghya to the Sun God. After this wear yellow clothes and worship Lord Krishna. Offer yellow flowers, Panchamrit and basil leaves to Shri Krishna. After this, chant the mantras of Lord Krishna or recite Geeta.

Listen to the story on the evening of Mokshada Ekadashi and perform Aarti by offering Prasad to Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi in the evening. Donate clothes or food to a poor person on this day. Waterless fast of Mokshada Ekadashi is the best.

Rules of Mokshada Ekadashi

-One should not eat food after sunset on the evening of Ekadashi. Sleep only after meditating on God or chanting mantras at night. If you are observing Ekadashi fast then keep your mind calm and stable. Do not have feelings of anger or revenge. Do not speak bad about anyone even by mistake on this day.

Avoid food on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi. Fruits can be eaten after evening worship. Even if you do not observe fast on Mokshada Ekadashi, at least do not eat rice at all. Keep a watch on it day and night. Do bhajan-kirtan. On the day of Dwadashi, you can eat food only after feeding the Brahmins.
