Time 100 Philanthropy List 2025: Time, the leading American magazine, which published the list of world’s wealthiest persons, has released a list of 100 philanthropic persons in the world for the first time. Mukesh Ambani, India’s top industrialist and chairman of Reliance Industries and Neeta Ambani, founder of Reliance Foundation, have pledged to give Rs 1.5 crore to Reliance Industries Limited. He has become the biggest donor in the country with a donation of Rs 407 crore. The list also includes former Wipro chairman Azim Premji and Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Jirodha.

According to Time magazine, these philanthropists, organizations and non-profit institutions from all over the world have donated generously when society needed the most. The list of 100 philanthropists in the world is divided into four different categories: Titans, Leaders, Trailblazers, and Innovators.

It has been further said that Nita Ambani, founder and president of Reliance Foundation leads several programs of Foundation.

The name of Azim Premji, former chairman of Indian IT company Wipro, is also included in the Titans category. They are working towards improving education in India. He is considered one of the most generous philanthropists in India. Azeem Premji is the first Indian to sign the ‘Giving Play’ and donated shares worth more than $ 29 billion of his Wipro company to his foundation in 2013. He founded this organization about 25 years ago. In addition, in 2023-24 he donated US $ 109 million to 940 organizations in education, health and other sectors.

Azim Premji’s charitable organization is directly involved in educational programs across India through 59 regional offices, teachers and rural child care activists, as well as 263 teacher education centers, and is helping more than 8 million children. In August, his organization pledged to allocate US $ 175 million to provide school food to more than 5 million children.

Jirodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath signed the Giving Play in 2023 at the age of 36. Under this initiative, Indians under the age of 45 who have assets more than US $ 100 million are committed to donating 25% of their assets. According to Time, the name of Indian-American journalist and writer Anand Giridhar Das has also been included in the innovators category of this list.
