World Sleep Day 2024: Good sleep is the basis of a balanced life, these tips will solve your sleep problems

Indore: While exercise is important for good health, adequate rest is also important to stay healthy. Getting enough sleep daily is very important for physical and mental health. By getting good sleep the body can be protected from many diseases. Nowadays, due to modern lifestyle and carelessness in eating habits, the daily routine of most people has become quite disturbed. World Sleep Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about its negative effects. This year World Sleep Day will be celebrated on 15 March. Dr. Debashish Chaudhary, Head of Neurology Department, GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi, is giving some useful tips regarding good sleep.

Good sleep is important for health

Getting good sleep at the right time not only removes fatigue but also gives rest to the mind. Good sleep refreshes the mind. Our learning ability increases. If we get enough sleep, we can protect ourselves from depression, stress and many mental disorders. If we get adequate sleep of 7 to 8 hours daily, we can avoid serious problems like stroke, diabetes, high BP.

Improve your sleeping pattern like this

First of all, make necessary changes in lifestyle and eating habits. Try to correct the body clock. If you follow certain lifestyle habits regularly, your body clock will also improve. It is also called circadian rhythm.

Exercise for about 40 minutes every day. Exercise leads to good sleep. Melatonin hormone increases in the body. Melatonin hormone improves sleep quality.

Consuming coffee or tea reduces sleep. Do not consume caffeinated products like tea, coffee or coke 3 hours before going to bed. Drinking alcohol may help you fall asleep faster, but it can also have side effects.

For good sleep, one should eat light food in the evening. Eating fast food or eating late at night also has a bad effect on sleep. Stomach related problems may increase.
