Jammu, September 18 (HS). Eco Warrior Club of Dogra Degree College celebrated World Ozone Day by organizing a poster making competition focusing on this year's theme i.e. Ozone for Life: 35 Years of Global Cooperation. The theme of World Ozone Day 2024, “Ozone for Life: 35 Years of Global Cooperation”, highlights the long-term importance of protecting the ozone layer for the survival of all living organisms. It emphasizes that ozone protection is not just about addressing immediate environmental concerns but also about ensuring the well-being of future generations.
It said that by raising awareness and taking action on World Ozone Day, we can continue to protect the ozone layer and ensure a healthier, more sustainable future for all. The judging panel comprising Assistant Professor Ravinder Kumar Rao, Lecturer Aditi Khajuria and Lecturer Amarpreet Kaur evaluated the presentations based on criteria such as creativity and presentation, relevance to the topic, originality and artistic creation. In the poster making competition, first prize was won by Shagun Bhagat (BA Semester I), second prize by Ayati Mahajan (BCom Semester I) and third prize by Vishal Verma (BBA Semester 5). Other participants were given certificates of participation.
