World News: UN reports that 28.2 million people in the world are dying of hunger

The United Nations Organization (UNO) has presented a shocking report yesterday. According to which, in the year 2023, about 282 million people from 59 countries are forced to die of hunger. Most people in war-torn Gaza are facing severe drought conditions. UNO has given this information in the global report on food crisis. In the year 2022, more than 2.4 crore people are facing food shortage. This has worsened the food security situation in Gaza Strip and Sudan. The number of countries facing food crisis has continuously increased. Which is being monitored.

Hunger scale determined

Maximo Torero, chief economist for the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization, said international experts have set the hunger scale to put 705,000 people in five countries at stage five, considered the highest level. The number is the highest since the global report began in 2016 and quadruples the number reported in 2016, he said.

People are migrating because of hunger

According to a leading economist, 80 percent of those facing severe famine, or 577,000, are in Gaza alone. Whereas thousands of people are dying of hunger in South Sudan, Somalia and Mali. A big problem is being faced in providing help here.

The situation will worsen in the near future

The report predicts future scenarios. About 1.1 million people in Gaza and 79,000 people in South Sudan could reach stage five by July and face famine. Israel and Hamas have been at war for seven months. According to the report, this conflict will increase food insecurity among the Houthis.
