Kishanganj 28 May (HS). Menstruation is not a crime and there is no need to feel inferior during this period. Only through menstrual hygiene can tomorrow's future be healthy and safe. On the occasion of International Menstrual Hygiene Day, a program was organized in the district's Girls High School on Tuesday under the aegis of the District Administration and Health Department as per the instructions of District Magistrate Tushar Singla.
District Immunization Officer Dr Devendra Kumar said that good menstrual hygiene is important for the health, well-being and empowerment of women and adolescent girls across the world. It plays a vital role in enabling women and adolescent girls to reach their full potential. Menstrual health is a fundamental aspect of human rights, dignity and public health. Menstrual Hygiene Day, which is observed every year on May 28, is dedicated to breaking taboos and raising awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene management. The event organised at Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya on Tuesday included a poster competition, rally and seminar.
DDA Suman Kumar Sinha said that there is no need to have any kind of superstition or hesitation on the normal natural process. He stressed on talking openly on this subject. During this, Nishant Kumar of Piramal Foundation, who was conducting the program, said that due to lack of hygiene during menstruation, there is a possibility of many types of diseases and problems. International Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated every year on this day all over the world to spread the importance of hygiene during menstruation. For this, programs were organized in all the health institutions and schools across the district.
