Working 4 days a week, advantage or disadvantage? The world's biggest trial ended in this country, know what was the result?

Test result of working 4 days a week: There are different opinions around the world regarding how many days a week should be worked and how many days off should be given. Now there is a tradition of working five and six days a week.

However, in many countries it is believed that productivity can be increased if there is a four-day work week and three days off. The world's largest trial of four days' leave per week was conducted in the United Kingdom. Now the results have come, which are surprising.

According to the research, the most shocking revelation is that most of the companies or businessmen who implemented four days of work in their institutions and gave three days off to their employees in a week, have maintained this rule.

Reviews of these entrepreneurs and companies revealed that employees worked under much less stress during this time, were happier while working and did better work for the companies, which significantly increased company revenues. Employees say that the company has become a heaven for them.

The research found that employees at 61 organizations in the UK contributed 100 percent during the research, which was implemented for six months from June to December 2022, which increased company revenues.

A research paper released after the study found that at least 54 (89 percent) of the companies involved were still using the policy after a year, and 31 (51 percent) had made the change. This has now been implemented permanently while the results are yet to be declared by both the companies.

The researchers who wrote the study say that the study shows that four days of work per week and three days off is not just a myth, but the majority of UK companies are now going to implement this model. UK-based think tank Autonomy, a non-profit organization, collaborated with researchers from Cambridge, Oxford and Boston College to apply the model in 2022 and released the results on Wednesday.

Studies have shown that four days of work and three days of rest a week has greatly benefited both employees and companies. This model had a deep positive impact on the physical and mental health of employees, their fatigue was significantly reduced, their lifestyle became more balanced, so most of the companies are still continuing this model.

“The most important thing is that the strong results at six months demonstrate not only short-term effects, but also long-term effects,” said Juliet Shore, a sociology professor at Boston College. “These impacts are real and long-term.”

The survey found that more than half (55 percent) of project manager CEOs said their organization has benefited from the four-day workday – in which employees work at 100 percent output 80 percent of their time.

82 percent of respondents said it had a positive impact on employee well-being, 50 percent found it reduced new hires because employees stopped leaving, and 32 percent said it improved job recruitment. 46 percent indicated that working conditions and productivity had improved.

Launched in 2022, 61 companies participated in the model, including companies from the marketing, advertising, professional services and non-profit sectors. Apart from this, manufacturing sector, retail, healthcare, arts and entertainment sectors were also included.

Under this model, working hours were kept at 31.6 hours per week, and the average firm reduced 6.6 working hours. Under this, companies gave holidays in different ways, like some companies gave three holidays together, while many companies gave holidays on different days of the week.

However, many companies also faced difficulties during this period and faced difficulties in communicating with customers and stakeholders where the four-day holiday was not the model. At the same time, there was anger and mismanagement among the employees in companies where this model was not implemented properly.
