Meerut, July 15 (HS). On Monday, activists created a ruckus at the SSP office in protest against the police's misbehavior with a BJP Yuva Morcha leader in their own government. The activists accused the CO of threatening to remove the BJP Yuva Morcha leader from his post and detaining him for an hour. The SSP assured to take action after investigation.
Nemu Pandit, resident of Ganganagar B Block, is the Metropolitan General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. Nemu Pandit said that at 11 pm on Saturday night, Ganganagar Mandal Minister Abhay Pandey, who was riding a bike, was stopped by CO Sadar Dehat Navina Shukla on the Inner Ring Road. On getting information about the matter, he reached the spot. He told his name and position and requested to release Abhay Pandey. On this, Nemu called the Cantt MLA. Nemu alleges that the CO threatened to expel him from politics and said that if he called the MLA or received a call from him, she would send him to jail. He was detained for an hour and released after apologizing. It is alleged that on the orders of the CO, Sub Inspector Prashant Mishra grabbed his collar while abusing him. After this, Nemu Pandit and one of his companions were taken to the police station in a police vehicle and released only after apologizing.
On Monday, workers led by BJP city president Suresh Jain Rituraj created a ruckus at the SSP office. He said that strict action should be taken against CO Sadar Dehat, Ganganagar police station in-charge and four policemen. If action is not taken against the accused policemen, he will take the matter to the Chief Minister. This is not a new case of police misbehavior with party workers in the BJP government. Such cases are coming to light every day in Meerut.
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada assured to investigate the entire matter and take appropriate action.
