Work time schedule changed in government offices to reduce pollution in Delhi

New Delhi, 15 November (HS). To prevent pollution in Delhi, the working timings of government offices have been changed. To reduce the traffic on the roads and the pollution caused by it, the working timings of all government offices in Delhi, Delhi Government, Municipal Corporation and Central Government offices have been changed.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi today shared a post to this effect on social media. It said that all government offices located in Delhi will work at different times to reduce road traffic and pollution.

Under the new schedule, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices will function from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Central Government offices from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm and Delhi Government offices from 10.00 am to 6.30 pm. The move is aimed at reducing vehicular movement during peak hours.

This step of Delhi Government will reduce the traffic pressure during morning and evening peak hours due to opening and closing of offices at different times and will also reduce the pollution caused due to lack of traffic.

It is noteworthy that the worst pollution level has been recorded in Delhi in the country. The air quality remained in the “severe” category continuously for the last two days. To control the increasing pollution in Delhi, Group 3 restrictions have been imposed from Wednesday. Under this, the working timings of government offices in Delhi have been changed.

On Friday, the city’s air quality was in the severe category with an AQI of 411.

Due to increasing pollution levels, the Delhi government has instructed all the primary schools in the capital to start online classes from Friday till further instructions.
