Working-Professional: A long-standing plan to meet old friends was finalized last weekend. Taking time out from the hustle and bustle of life, all agreed except one friend. When asked the reason, he said that the work pressure is so much that it is becoming difficult to manage time and he also has night shifts. Both the reasons were valid, but we tried almost every trick to include him in the plan, but it did not work out.
When we invited another friend to the society for Teej celebration, he also refused without wasting a minute telling us about the workload in the office.
These reasons for the absence of both the friends are not excuses, but the truth. With which most of the working people are struggling these days. This way of working can give them progress in professional life, but in personal life such people become victims of loneliness.
Recently a Microsoft engineer was seen driving an auto on the streets of Bangalore. When the 35-year-old engineer was asked the reason for this, he said that he does this to overcome his loneliness.
- The way of working is making people lonely
- Incomplete goals and untimely changes have wreaked havoc on the personal lives of working professionals. To complete the target, one has to stay in the office for many hours before the shift and if there is a night shift somewhere, then the day time is spent sleeping. Neither are they able to eat or drink on time nor do any kind of activity and social life is almost coming to an end. Due to which loneliness of people is increasing.
Advantages and disadvantages of solitude
It is important to have some time of solitude in the day, it is also called me time. It works to recharge the body and mind, but constant loneliness pushes a person towards stress and depression. Personal life is almost over, slowly it starts affecting professional life as well. Productivity starts decreasing. You start getting bored with work and when you don't get promotion even after giving 100%, then irritability starts increasing.
How to overcome the problem of loneliness?
- Do as much work as you can.
- Don't say yes to everything to prove yourself in the office.
- Give yourself time after completing your shift.
- Make time for the things you love.
- If you cannot meet friends, then talk to them on the phone or video call.
- Instead of spending your weekend at home sleeping or watching TV, have a social gathering.
