On Wednesday, a delegation of public representatives sent a memorandum to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami through the District Magistrate to start the work of Chardham All Weather Road from Uttarkashi to Bhairav Valley from the strategic and pilgrimage point of view.
A delegation of regional public representatives led by Block Pramukh Bhatwadi Vinita Rawat met District Magistrate Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht and requested him to start the work of Chardham All Weather Road soon. The delegation said that due to the non-start of work of Chardham All Weather Road beyond Uttarkashi, the regional people and pilgrims are facing a lot of problems. This can have an adverse effect on the travel based economy. Therefore, it is necessary to build this road soon.
Let us tell you that the work of Char Dham All Weather Road was hanging in balance due to the delayed approval from the Ministry of Forest and Environment because of the 100 km eco-sensitive zone from Uttarkashi to Gangotri Dham. After the report of the High Power Committee on the instructions of the Supreme Court, the said project got the green signal last year. Now the administration has also started the process of compensation distribution.
