National Service Scheme Unit of Government New College Kandel situated in historical pride village Kandel invited subject matter experts from Sakhi One Stop Center District Dhamtari and Women and Child Development Department of District Dhamtari to provide information about various laws based on women awareness and women’s discussion and Women and Child Development Department. A program based on intellectual discussion was organized on Friday to provide information about various schemes run by the Corporation.
Addressing the students, Anamika Sharma provided detailed information about how the Women and Child Development Department provides facilities, security and legal assistance to women affected by various types of physical and mental violence, including domestic violence. . Pramod provided detailed information about various laws related to women’s safety and how women should be aware of their rights and duties. In this sequence, Usha Thakur gave detailed information about the special facilities being provided by Sakhi One Stop Center to women suffering from various types of violence. Principal and Prof. Ravish Das, who was presiding over the program, said that in view of the current violence against women, organizing such programs undoubtedly becomes relevant, which will create awareness among the college students about their rights and duties. The main participants in the program were Assistant Professor Laxman Sen, Guest Lecturer Dr. Sangeeta Goyal, Dr. Richa Shukla, Savita Laharen, Deeksha Som, Manu Narayan Sarathi, Tikendra Verma. A large number of students including Saket Kumar Gangber were present. The program was conducted by Kumari Monica Sahu B.Sc. 2nd year.
Sapling given to the guests as a memento: Program Officer Pitambar Sinha said that the National Service Scheme makes continuous efforts to empower all sections. In this series, a program based on women awareness was organized today. To make the program interesting and attractive, a rangoli and poster competition based on women’s awareness and environmental protection was also organized in which students from first year to final year participated. At the end of the program, the invited guests were felicitated by presenting a sapling in the name of Mother Tree as a memento.
