Haridwar, 25 November (HS). Women street vendors associated with the Small Business Association organized a meeting on the eve of Constitution Day. In this meeting, a demand was made from Prime Minister Narendra Modi that orders should be passed to implement the National Street Vendor Protection Act, National Livelihood Mission and Prime Minister Street Vendor Self-reliant Scheme in the civic areas of all the states of the country by 2027.
Small Business Association in the meeting. Sanjay Chopra, provincial president, said that the National Street Vendor Protection Act was declared by the Government of India in the year 2014. Article 19A of the Constitution allows doing business on footpaths, but even after 10 years, not all municipal corporations have been able to implement it. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to take major steps to implement the National Hawking Policy Manual in all the states of the country while respecting the livelihood of five crore ready-made street vendors and small traders of the country.
Poonam Makhan, President of Mahila Pick Vending Zone, said that women street vendors selling bindis, bangles and goods on the ghats of Mother Ganga should be arranged in a separate vending zone. He said that soon he will go to Dehradun and meet Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and demand to implement the Uttarakhand Urban Ferry Policy Rules in the entire state with target fulfillment.
The women who attended the meeting included Radha Mishra, Suman Gupta, Asha Kashyap, Sunita Chauhan, Pushpa Das, Tulsi, Santosh Devi, Geeta, Seema, Babli, Kalavati, Jolie, Madhu, Poonam, Sheela Rawat, Rekha Saini, Kasturi Devi, Sumitra. Devi, Nitish Aggarwal, Santosh Kumar, Virendra Pandit, Manish Sharma etc. are prominent.
