Ranchi, 07 December (Hindustan Reporter). Bharatiya Janata Party state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Saturday once again targeted the state government regarding the Mayiya Samman Scheme. He said that women in entire Jharkhand including Hazaribagh district are forced to visit zonal offices for the amount received under ‘Maiyan Samman Yojana’.
Marandi said that widows, economically weak and helpless women in the age group of 18 to 50 years, who are covered under this scheme, are not getting the benefits. Many women applied four to five times but still the honorarium was not deposited in their accounts. He said that there is a provision of giving Rs 2500 per month under the scheme, but far from getting the amount for most of the women, even the status of application approval is not clear, due to which all the mothers and sisters of Jharkhand are getting troubled. In many cases, despite filling the form and giving the necessary documents, the benefit of the scheme was not received.
Marandi said that the situation is also bad in Ramgarh district, where about 30 thousand women have not yet received the amount of this scheme. Due to the negligence of the administration and procedural hurdles, women are repeatedly visiting the offices. Due to administrative chaos, mothers and sisters stand in queues the whole day but even then they get only disappointment. He said that even though the objective of the scheme was to provide financial assistance to needy women, due to the negligence and delay of the government, women are facing difficulties and financial problems due to lack of proper implementation.
