Baghpat, 16 October (Hindustan Reporter) The Road Safety Fortnight, which was going on since October 2 in Baghpat district, ended on October 16. Various awareness programs were organized during this fortnight, aimed at making citizens aware of road safety rules. People associated with schools, colleges, institutions and transport participated enthusiastically in these programs.
In the closing ceremony of the fortnight, women e-rickshaw drivers were flagged off under Mission Shakti by District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh. These female e-rickshaw drivers are supporting their families with their courageous steps. District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh said on this occasion, “Women e-rickshaw drivers have taken a bold decision to become self-reliant, breaking the conservative thinking of the society, which is inspiring. We all should appreciate and support their efforts. The closing ceremony rally ended at the RTO office, where Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Raghavendra Singh, Divisional Inspector Vindhyachal Gupta and all the transport department staff made the drivers present aware of following the rules of road safety. Women e-rickshaw drivers were especially honoured, so that their courageous efforts could give a new direction to the society.
