Woman married 6 men and was caught for the seventh time

New Delhi: Two women and two men have been arrested for running a racket of duping single men into marriage in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. These women used to steal cash and jewelery from the man’s house after marriage.

According to the police, Poonam, who was married to six men, and Sanjana Gupta, who posed as her mother, and two people, Vimlesh Verma and Dharmendra Prajapati, have been arrested.

Vimlesh Verma and Dharmendra Prajapati used to find lonely youths and introduce them to Poonam. They used to demand money from the youth for marriage. After getting married easily in the court, Poonam used to go to her husband’s house.

As soon as she got a chance to go there, Poonam used to run away with valuables including cash and jewellery. After cheating six people, he met a young man named Shankar Upadhyay.

Before the marriage, Rs 1.5 lakh was also demanded from Shankar Upadhyay. Vimlesh Verma introduced him to Poonam and called him to the court for marriage. However, meanwhile Shankar Upadhyay became suspicious and demanded Aadhaar card from Poonam and Sanjana.

Shankar Upadhyay became suspicious when he refused to give Aadhaar card. And he refused to marry. Due to which he threatened to kill her and implicate her in a false case. After this, Shankar Upadhyay lodged a police complaint against these four.
