There are many such mysteries hidden in the world of nature which surprise humans. While the average age of humans is 70 to 80 years, there is a creature on this earth which has been alive for almost two centuries (200 years). According to Guinness World Records, the Seychelles Giant Tortoise named ‘Jonathan’, living on the island of St. Helena, is currently the world’s oldest living land animal. Along with this, he has also been declared the oldest turtle in history.

‘Jonathan’ is older than the Victorian era and the Eiffel Tower

Jonathan’s current age is about 194 years. Experts estimate that this turtle was born around the year 1832. You can guess its age from the fact that Jonathan has been present on this earth since before the construction of Britain’s Victorian era, London’s famous Tower Bridge and Paris’s historic Eiffel Tower. He has witnessed many major ups and downs and changes in human history very closely.
