The teams participating in the ICC T20 World Cup have started their preparations. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will play its only practice match against Bangladesh on Saturday. The Indian team spent about three hours on the nets in New York on Friday. Rohit Sharma focused on batting and Rishabh Pant on wicketkeeping. The bowlers also batted for a long time. The team did many exercises on fielding including catching in the first hour. Suryakumar was given a lot of time on the nets. Then Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah were called to bat. Both the bowlers practiced batting for a long time. Captain Rohit and coach Dravid are leaving no stone unturned to strengthen India's batting.
The drop-in pitches in New York are expected to give the ball extra bounce. In the practice session, Rohit had to face mostly fast bowlers. He played many shots on the bowling of Avesh Khan, Shivam Dubey, Khalil Ahmed. However, Rohit also had to face some balls from Ravindra Jadeja and Chahal. Hardik Pandya spent a long time with batting coach Vikram Rathod. Hardik bowled for about an hour. Opener Jaiswal paid special attention to pull and cover drive.
