News India Live, Digital Desk: These days, from the political corridors of the country to the tea stalls, only one issue is being debated the most and that is Waqf (Amendment) BillThe government is bringing a new law to settle the Waqf properties, regarding which there is continuous discussion going on in the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC),

The most important thing in this new law is “registration”The government wants that the details of every Waqf property should be recorded on a central portal, But, there was a great fear in the minds of Muslim society and people associated with Waqf, The fear is that “if for some reason we are not able to register our property within the deadline, will that land be lost from our hands?”

Will that land become government? It is very important for you to know the clarification that has come from the government on this today.

What is the rule of deadline?
According to the proposed bill, to register Waqf properties on the portal. 6 months Time can be given. The rule says that if you do not give the details of your property within this time limit, then it will not be considered as Waqf property.

But, here’s a “screw” and one “relief” Both are there.

Who will get the exemption? (Exemption Rule)
During the JPC meeting, the government representatives have made it clear that their aim is not to grab anyone’s land, but to set the record straight.
The government said that if any person or organization is not able to register by the deadline, and does not have No “substantial cause” for delay If so, he can be given relief. That is, if you prove that you were late due to some genuine compulsion (such as illness, paperwork or legal complications), your land will not be taken away directly.

DM (Collector) will have remote
The real power will rest with the District Collector i.e. DM.

  1. If the property is not registered after the deadline, the DM will decide whether the land belongs to Waqf or government.
  2. DM will see the “Revenue Record” of that land. If the papers are valid, then there is no need to worry.
  3. But, if you are deliberately negligent and do not provide any proof, then that property may go to the government account or a dispute may arise over it.
