Maharashtra News: Assembly elections are going to be held in Maharashtra in the next 6 months. The term of the assembly is ending on 26 November. Meanwhile, the dispute between the Mahavikas Aghadi and the Mahayuti alliance has increased over seat sharing. Along with this, there is a lot of uproar in the Mahavikas Aghadi regarding the post of Chief Minister. This election is very important for both Shiv Sena and NCP. After the split in the party, this will be the first time that the public will approve a true party.
At present, the discussion regarding seat sharing between these two parties has intensified. The parties have also started working on their strong seats. As far as the Mahayuti is concerned, nothing concrete has come out regarding the seat sharing between the BJP and its allies. The final decision in the Mahayuti has been left to Devendra Fadnavis. However, this may also lead to discontent within the Ajit Pawar faction. Tensions between Ajit Pawar and BJP have been continuing since joining the NDA.
Stress can be the chief minister's formula
The formula for the chief minister in Maharashtra can become a big tension. In the 2019 assembly elections too, the reason for the breakup of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance was the post of the chief minister. On one hand, BJP, being the largest party, wants its own CM, while on the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray was staking claim to the post of Chief Minister. When the NCP and Congress agreed to make him the Chief Minister, he formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.
So this time once again a similar situation is being seen in the Mahavikas Aghadi. The situation is still not clear regarding the post of Chief Minister, but Uddhav Thackeray is insisting that the election campaign will intensify only after the announcement of the name of the Chief Minister. A meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi officials was held in Mumbai on 16 August. In which a strategy was to be made regarding the election. Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Nana Patole, Supriya Sule, Aditya Thackeray, Balasaheb Thorat, Prithviraj Chavan were also present in this meeting. Apart from this, leaders of smaller parties like CPI, CPM and Shekap were also present in the meeting.
Uddhav's statement on the post of Chief Minister is important
In this meeting, Uddhav Thackeray said, “If Sharad Pawar and Congress announce the name of the Chief Minister, then I will also support them. This election is not being fought for any personal benefit. The CM face should not be discussed on the basis of numbers. Otherwise, the seats of the parties involved in the alliance will be cut and the opposition will benefit. Therefore, it would be more appropriate to move forward only after deciding the CM face.”
Confusion over the face of the Chief Minister!
While both Sharad Pawar and Nana Patole did not support this demand of Uddhav. Both the leaders said that the first task for the victory of Mahavikas Aghadi is to contest the elections together. Only after this the decision regarding the post of Chief Minister will be correct. Then Prithviraj Chavan had said that the one who has more seats will become the Chief Minister. Now after Uddhav Thackeray's statement, the question is who will have the last say in Mahavikas Aghadi and how will the name of the CM be announced.
Uddhav Thackeray is not giving up his desire for power
Uddhav Thackeray is still fond of the post of Chief Minister. He has indicated this. Talking about the Ladli Behan Yojana, he said, “The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister should clarify where the budget for this scheme will come from. The CM remains worried about this scheme, so some IAS officers are saying, you come back soon.” Anyway, one thing is clear that the performance of the Uddhav faction was good in the Lok Sabha elections. That is why Uddhav Thackeray is putting pressure on the CM's face.
