Like JEE Main and JEE Advanced, the government can also bring NEET and UG papers in online mode. However, right now this exam is in paper and pen i.e. MCQ mode. In which the candidates have to find their answer in the options and highlight the answer on the OMR sheet. Which is optically scanned. However, the Ministry of Health has many times expressed displeasure over conducting the NEET UG exam in online mode. The NEET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
Consider taking an online exam
The special thing is that the government is planning to conduct the NEET exam online from next year. Many accused have been arrested from Maharashtra to Bihar in the NEET paper leak case. The CBI is also investigating the case. Apart from this, the matter has also reached the Supreme Court. The NEET paper leak case is also a topic of discussion in Parliament, where the opposition is demanding a debate on it.
Discussion on JEE exam format
It is worth noting that at present the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and Advanced exams for admission to IITs and engineering colleges are conducted in online mode. According to a report, the central government has constituted a seven-member panel headed by former ISRO chairman K. Radhakrishnan. The JEE exam format has been discussed in at least three high-level meetings of the panel held in the last one week.
Earlier the Health Ministry had raised objections
Let us tell you that in the year 2018, the then Education Minister Prakash Javadekar had announced that from 2019, NEET would be conducted online and twice a year. However, the Ministry of Health objected to this announcement and said that this decision has been taken without consulting it. After this, the Ministry of Education was forced to withdraw its decision. The Health Ministry was concerned that if the exam was conducted online, poor and rural students would suffer.
