There has been a stir among medical students across the country regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate i.e. NEET PG 2026. Every year lakhs of MBBS students across the country wait for this prestigious exam to get admission into Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and Post Graduate Diploma courses in the top medical colleges of the country. NEET PG exam is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in which a total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked. Students are given 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer i.e. there is a provision for negative marking. For questions which students do not attempt, no marks are awarded or any marks are deducted. In this examination of total 800 marks, the cutoff percentile is decided according to the category. Generally 50th percentile for general category, 40th percentile for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) and 45th percentile for Gen-PWD is the minimum eligibility criteria. After the declaration of the result, the counseling process for All India Quota (AIQ) 50 percent seats and state quota seats is started by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
Whenever the answer key or scorecard will be released by NBE after the completion of the examination, students should trust only the official websites. Students will be able to obtain the required documents by visiting the official websites of National Board of Examination, natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in and entering their credentials. After visiting the website, you have to click on the ‘NEET PG 2026’ section given on the homepage. After this you have to log in to the portal by entering your login details like user ID, application number and password. If the provisional answer key is released by the board, students will be able to match their responses with the official answer key and if they have to raise objection on any question, they will be able to apply online with the prescribed fee. The final result and scorecard will be announced only after the objections are resolved.
