The Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy in February 2025. According to sources, the BCCI will talk to the ICC to hold India's matches in Dubai instead of Pakistan. However, no official statement has been given by the BCCI in this matter. Last year also Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup. Even then when India did not go there, the tournament was organized on a 'hybrid model'. India's matches were held in Sri Lanka.
The Champions Trophy 2025 will be played from February 19 to March 9 next year, with March 10 being the reserve day for the final. The Pakistan Cricket Board has sent the draft of the 15 matches of the tournament to the ICC. The ICC will approve this schedule only after getting the consent of the boards of the 8 teams participating in the tournament. Pakistan may face arch-rival India in Lahore on March 1. However, the BCCI has not yet given its consent for this match. Let us tell you that for the first time since 1996, Pakistan will host a major ICC tournament. However, the PCB hosted the entire Asia Cup in 2008 and some matches of the Asia Cup were also held in Pakistan last year.
According to reports, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has sent a 15-match schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025 to the ICC. In which all the matches of India have been held in Lahore due to security reasons. An ICC board member said that the PCB has submitted the draft of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy. There will be 7 matches in Lahore, 3 in Karachi and 5 in Rawalpindi. The opening matches will be held in Karachi, while the 2 semi-finals will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi.
