Kolkata, March 14 (HS). Arjun Singh, who returned to Trinamool in 2022 after winning on BJP ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, is going to return to BJP once again. He has left for Delhi and will join BJP on Friday. The reason for this is that Trinamool Congress has not made him a candidate from Barrackpore parliamentary seat. Before this, he has once again targeted Mamata Banerjee's government on the Sandeshkhali issue. Before leaving for Delhi, he has said that he will not let Barrackpore become Sandeshkhali. Trinamool Congress has fielded Minister of State Partha Bhowmik as its candidate from Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat. After not getting the ticket, Arjun Singh had asked his supporters to take further decision.
Arjun Singh had joined Trinamool in 2022 after winning from BJP. He has alleged that when he joined Trinamool, he was promised a ticket from Barrackpore in 2024. Trinamool has not fulfilled this promise. Arjun Singh tightened his tone and said that he would not allow Barrackpur to become Sandeshkhali under any circumstances.
