New Delhi: Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, as well as a Hamas military commander. A statement said the Pre-Trial Chamber rejected Israel’s challenge to the court’s jurisdiction and issued warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant. A warrant was also issued for Mohammed Deif, but the Israeli military said he was killed in an airstrike in Gaza in July.
It found there were “reasonable grounds” to believe that the three men bear “criminal responsibility” for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the war between Israel and Hamas. Both Israel and Hamas have denied the allegations.
The indictment reportedly states that the court found reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu deliberately targeted civilians and withheld essential aid. Due to which people are facing a lot of trouble.
The court said – We have come to the conclusion that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu and Galant are responsible for the war crime of deliberately directing attacks against the civilian population of Gaza.
